Fibromyalgia is a form of generalized muscular pain and
fatigue. It is commonly misunderstood because a lot of its symptoms
are also found in other common ailments. In addition, it doesn't have
a specific known cause. Some of the most common symptoms are pain, swelling,
fatigue, headaches, muscle spasms, tender points, numbness and tingling,
and stiffness. It is commonly mistaken for muscular soreness, but this
is not true. It is a form of soft tissue or muscular rheumatism. Fibromyalgia
is effectively treated with a combination of treatments and medications
that diminish pain and improve sleep, physical therapy for exercises,
relaxation techniques, and soft tissue mobilization, and chiropractic
manipulation.
